Kaltimber
SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT
Kaltimber reclaims and recycles disused boats, bridges, and warehouses to create high-quality, long-lasting decking and flooring, reducing the need for new timber and minimizing waste. Their mission is to preserve forests by sourcing wood from structures slated for demolition and replanting 50 ironwood trees for every 950m² of processed materials sold. Committed to protecting Indonesia's forests, Kaltimber promotes recycled timber as an eco-friendly alternative to new timber.
Kaltimber sources wood exclusively from legal and sustainable sources to avoid contributing to illegal logging or unsustainable practices. Their highly skilled craftsmen transform reclaimed wood into beautiful, unique furniture and homewares, extending the wood's life and adding value.
As part of their commitment to a full cycle, Kaltimber is working to transform sawdust into essential oil for the perfume industry. Tannin-free sawdust can be used to cover crop plantations instead of plastic, and tannin-rich water can be used for cloth coloring.
