Sungai Design is dedicated to up-cycling river plastic into durable, beautiful products, using the proceeds to fund river cleanups worldwide. Sungai Design sources its plastic from Sungai Watch, a nonprofit that collects and processes plastic from heavily polluted rivers.

Sungai Design's chairs are crafted from 2,000 plastic bags rescued from Indonesian rivers by their nonprofit partner, Sungai Watch. The bags undergo a thorough cleaning process, then are shredded and heat-pressed into durable sheets. Using CNC technology, these sheets are sculpted into ergonomic and stylish panels. Each chair is assembled by skilled artisans to create a floating, elegant appearance. Sungai Design's approach combines innovation, craftsmanship, and ethical practices, transforming Bali river plastic into sustainable furniture and striving to leave rivers cleaner.
