We are constantly reevaluating all aspects of our company to determine how we can become more ecologically and socially responsible in the most significant ways.
In our 12th year, we have committed to reassessing the priorities of our company moving towards clean production and practices.
In 2021 Acacia will be the most sustainable we have ever been. Here are a few practices we have adopted over the last several years:
Recycled swim fabric
We’re excited to introduce recycled swim fabric. This eco-friendly fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles, has been regenerated into the softest nylon. Once products are no longer useful to consumers, they can be recycled back into regenerated nylon fabric and used once again – an exciting new system we are happy to be a part of!
This year we’re offering a selection of green textiles: TENCEL, made from sustainably harvested trees, organic cotton and linen, grown without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers which require less water waste.
Acacia currently uses recycled paper packaging for all online orders to reduce waste. All packaging used is compostable.
Starting earlier this year, all of our products have been packaged in compostable poly-bags that will bio-degrade in your home compost!
We have been working with the same factories since day one (10+ years!). Two factories that promote high standards: ethical production, gender equality, and fair pay. Bali is a second home to us, which is why we have manufactured there for over 10 years. We have a deep, genuine love for its people and culture.
Hand dyed and screen printing
All of our clothing fabric is screen printed and hand dyed in Bali, allowing us to print /dye only exactly what is needed to fulfill orders. No fabric is wasted or left over.
Digitally printed swim fabric
Our swim fabric is digitally printed, allowing for small production runs to reduce fabric waste. Digital printing also requires less water, therefore creating less water waste.
Made to Order
All of our products are made to order, meaning that we are essentially free of excess inventory and left over stock. Each retailer is able to personally order the items they want from each collection, and our online inventory is offered direct to consumer. This drastically reduces the potential for wastage or surplus stock.
