Kaltimber was launched in 2009 out of a deep love and passion for Indonesia's forests and a desire to protect them. The company specializes in termite-resistant A1 rated exterior grade hardwoods, particularly Ulin ironwood.
"We specialize in recycled ulin ironwood decking and flooring to provide cost-effective, long-lasting, and high-quality decking and flooring made with certified recycled hardwood. We reclaim and recycle disused boats, bridges, and warehouses to create our products and transform offcuts into unique furniture and homewares."

Kaltimber reclaims and recycles disused boats, bridges, and warehouses to create high-quality, long-lasting decking and flooring products, reducing the need for new timber and minimizing waste.
Kaltimber's mission is to bring nature into homes while preserving the forest, and they do this by sourcing their woods only from structures genuinely slated for demolition and by replanting 50 ironwood trees for every 950m2 of fully processed materials sold. Previously the company was helping orang-outans in South Kalimantan.
Kaltimber is committed to protecting Indonesia's forests by reducing pressure on them through promoting recycled timber as a viable and environmentally-sound alternative to new timber.
Kaltimber sources their woods only from legal and/or sustainable sources, ensuring that they are not contributing to illegal logging or other unsustainable practices.
Kaltimber's products are made by highly skilled wood workers who transform the reclaimed wood into beautiful and unique pieces of furniture and homewares, extending the life of the wood and adding value to it.
"As part of our commitment to a full cycle, we are currently working to transform our sawdust into an essential oil for the perfume industry. Sawdust clean of tannin can then be used to cover crop plantations instead of plastic. Finally, the water full of tannin could be used for cloth colouring."
