Sustainability Highlights
Sumayé’s creations, carefully handmade, are an ode to Indonesian botanicals, drawing inspiration from ingredients like ube–the sweet potato that represents home, family, and the quiet comfort of togetherness.
LOCAL CRAFTMANSHIP
Sumayé Living products are handmade in Bali and Malang using natural materials like clay and wood sourced from local regions. The brand is dedicated to supporting local artisans, offering fair pay and respecting the craftsmanship, while focusing on honoring the hands that create each product.
WASTE REDUCTION
Sumayé Living prioritizes eco-friendly practices by using reusable aluminum pouches and innovative packaging that doubles as incense holders. The brand has also switched to clay ceramic incense holders to reduce environmental impact. Additionally, Sumayé is exploring ways to repurpose flowers from Balinese offerings, further reducing waste and incorporating local cultural elements into its products.
CULTURAL PRESERVATION
Designs draw from Indonesian rituals, botanicals, and traditional techniques, promoting cultural preservation through modern applications.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Sumayé Living supports local communities, having provided care packages and financial assistance in Ubud and Dalung. With a vision extending beyond Bali, Sumayé Living aims to bring comfort and peace across Java, sharing the creations with those in need.
